One of my favorite wedding venues I’ve shot at so far is the Griffin House. This is located west of Hood River, OR, just off I-84.
The house was built in 1900 and has been renovated through the years. Even through renovations and modernization, the Griffin House maintains a vintage charm while being luxurious at the same time. It also offers some of the most incredible views the Columbia River Gorge has to offer. The house itself comfortably fits 20 of your nearest and dearest to support you in preparing for your wedding. It has big, beautiful windows looking out onto the property and across the river into Washington.
Abby and I photographed a lovely wedding here for Hanna and Tanner.

This particular day was very windy!

The grounds of the property are likewise majestic and beautiful. The ceremony spot looks directly to the west, right down into the Gorge. There are stone terraces and sweeping lawns and the original rock wall lining the bluff’s edge.

There is a large grass meadow for after the ceremony where family and group portraits can be taken while the guests are at cocktail hour on the stone terraces and enjoying the view of the Columbia River Gorge.

On top of all of this, they have a tailor-made tent with a clear ceiling to allow tons of natural light in and this is perfect for a dinner and dancing space.

Abby and I both agreed that this is definitely one of our favorite venues. If you’re still looking for the perfect spot with great views and a nice place to spend your best day, check out the Griffin House.
